Along came the Violin... and other instruments...
At the age of 10, Brianna began taking violin lessons with Olga Shpitko and joined the Strings program at Eura Brown Elementary school. She progressed at a very fast rate and soon auditioned for the Etowah Youth Symphony Orchestra's "June Bugg String Orchestra." She was awarded 2nd chair in the first violin section. In 2005, Brianna attended the Honor Strings Program at Jacksonville State University. The next year, at age 12, Brianna auditioned for the Etowah Youth Symphony Orchestra (under the direction of Michael Gagliardo) and became the youngest person to be granted a section leader position (2nd chair, 2nd violin section). In the summer of 2007, Brianna served as section leader of the 2nd violin section and travelled with the EYO to New York City where they performed at Carnegie Hall. With the EYO, she also had the opportunity to premiere several works including "Viper v. Orchestra" by Mark Wood (of the Transiberian Orchestra), Daniel Dorff's Piano Concerto, and "When Rebecca Woogie Came to Town" (for narrator, piano, and orchestra). During the course of Brianna's EYO experience, she was awarded 2006-2007 "Rookie of the Year Award" and earned the positions of Assistant and Associate Concertmaster (1st Violin).

During the years of 2006-2010, Brianna participated in the Alabama All-State Festival 5 times, participating in the Premiere Strings group, the String Sinfonietta, and the Festival Orchestra (3 years). During these years, Brianna began study under Yuriko Yasuda and later studied under Truong Nguyen. In 2010, Brianna competed in the AFMC Auditions at Birmingham Southern in both piano and violin. She was awarded the 2nd prize in the "string division." Brianna has continued to utilize her violin skills, playing in the Samford University Orchestra. She has had the opportunity to perform the pit orchestras for the Samford Opera/Theater productions of Hansel and Gretel, The Pajama Game, and The Wizard of Oz. Additionally, in 2014, she travelled and toured the Dominican Republic with the Samford University Orchestra and Jazz Band.

In addition to playing the violin, Brianna is also a vocalist (mezzo-soprano) who particpated in the All-State Choral Festival for three years. Additionally, she received superior scores in the Alabama Vocal Association's solo and ensemble competition (2 years).  Brianna is also an organist (studied with Dr. James Dorroh), violist, cellist (studied with Claudia Shelton), saxophonist, and guitarist (studied with Brian DeLaney and Shea Ledbetter).

Most recently, Brianna has honed her conducting and audio-recording skills. Finally with her work with the Overture Center's division of The Lullaby Project (Carnegie Hall), she enjoys playing the melodica and ukulele.
